Second Step...Bridal Expos

After the dates been picked (sometimes the hardest part) you can now do some fun things.  No matter where you live, you can always find a bridal expo not to far from your house.  Bridal expos are extremely educational and also a chance to win a lot of helpful prizes.

Plenty of vendors show up to these things ready to give away free samples of their products, coupons, and even a honeymoon.  Often times, the big prize is a honeymoon to Hawaii or Jamaica.

The one that I attend allowed me to come up with things that I knew I wanted to be at my own wedding as well as what I didn't want.  For example, there was a photo booth at this particular bridal expo.  I enjoyed the service that they gave me and therefore allows me to picture that being at my own wedding. You can even get ideas for locations, dresses, and transportation.  Most bridal expos have fashion shows where you can see different styles of dresses paired with the grooms looks as well.  It's an easy way to see what you like and what you don't like without going into every store and trying on all of their dresses.

Bridal Expos (at least all the ones that I have attended) are free so you don't have to worry about spending money in order to gain information about venders. You are allowed to bring as many guests as you want so it's a good way to get your whole bridal party together and just have fun (ice-breaker) or get your soon to be mother-in-law as well as your mother together to hang out in a no pressure zone.

Expos should definitely be considered when first planning your wedding because they eliminate time and stress in just one meeting place.

First Step...The Date

Seeing as how I am starting this blog a couple of months after getting engaged, these first couple of blog posts will be about what I have already done in preparations for my wedding day.

One of the very first things that you can do, all while being in school is to PICK A DATE!!! This is what I consider to be a very fun time.  Although you may not know what your plans are for the future in terms of where your career will take you or when you will graduate, at least you will have this.

The date doesn't need to be specific.  It could be as simple as just having the year picked out all the way down to the month, day, hour, and minute of when you want to be walking down the aisle. As for my wedding, we bounced back a few ideas of when we would want to be married but the main thing that we both wanted was to be out of school.  That is something that needs to be considered when planning the date.  I will be graduating in the Spring of 2013 and he will be graduating in the Fall of 2013. We picked May of 2014 in the hopes of having secure jobs and a place to call home.  These are all necessities that need to be considered before solidifyng anything.

Hello All!

So you want to know what this blog is about? Well here it is.

I am currently a college senior preparing to graduate in the Spring of 2013 (YAY!!). During my junior year of college, my boyfriend of 5 years asked me to marry him. It was the most romantic and exciting day of my life; something that I will never forget. At the time, I was wrapped up in my present emotions to even worry about school let alone school work. But just as life continues on in any other circumstance, it continued on in this one. So I went back to school with the understanding that I would be planning a wedding and preparing to graduate all at the same time.

With the age in which people get married today decreasing, many of us still in school, I found it appropriate to write a blog informing you about what decisions can be made and things that can be planned all while attending school and getting the grades that are needed.

So here's to planning a wedding and graduating with honors!
