The Engagement Pictures

Hello All,

Sorry for my lengthy absence from posting. My excuse, it's the college life!

On a brighter note, I come to you today with a very exciting post. It's time to start thinking about those engagement pictures. Engagement pictures, I believe, are extremely fun if you have a great location and an awesome photographer. My fiance and I decided to have my lovely sister take our pictures for us and I have to admit, they came out great.

**Here's a little hint, if you don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars on pictures, have someone with a nice camera take them for you. You will get the same result that would have gotten if you paid all that money. You may even get a better result because hopefully the person you find is someone that you as a couple are comfortable with.**

There are many different places you can get your engagement pictures taken. If you are into the more rustic theme, find a barn or a field. If elegance is what you like, find a formal living room or take pictures outside a mansion. Use props that say "I asked" and "I say YES!" or "I stole her heart" and "So I'm stealing his last name!"

For our engagement shoot, we decided to bring our dog along. We got some GREAT pictures of him that are surely being used in some aspect of our wedding. Here's an example of one:

So cute, right?

Just remember to have fun with it and get lost in the moment. The pictures that aren't too posy posy are always better in my opinion. It shows the couple for who they truly are; much more genuine.

Here are some things to think about and discuss with your fiance when decided on engagement pictures:
1) Is there money to spend on photographer or is there someone we know that can take them for us?
2) Location, location, location?
3) Time of day?
4) Theme?
5) Pets?

So what have you done? What are you planning on doing?
Feel free to leave comments so others can get ideas of what's going on in the engagement picture world.
